Notes:

The Base Tier distributes 20% of the program funds equally among eligible states.

The Modal Tier distributes 20% of the program funds based on the number of rail modes.

The Service Tier distributes 60% of the program funds among eligible states based on data reported to the National Transit Database for rail modes not regulated by the Federal Railroad Administration. Specifically, fifteen percent of funds are distributed based on Passenger Miles Traveled (PMT), fifteen percent is distributed based on Vehicle Revenue Miles (VRM) and thirty percent is distributed based on Directional Route Miles (DRM).

The Service Tier amounts are capped at 15%, ensuring that no State obtains more than 15% of the total.

Funds allocated through the Service and Modal Tiers for a multi-state RFGPTS are allocated in full to the state in which the RFGPTS is headquartered.

For informational purposes, this table breaks out Service and Modal Tier values associated with RFGPTS operating service across state lines from in-state systems.

An amount of "$0" denotes no funds allocated to an eligible under that particular tier.
