Listing of Transit Agencies
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. We are a small consulting firm interested in providing cost savings opportunities to city transit bus operations throughout the country. We need to construct a database of names of the procurement officers and their relevant department, city, address, phone, fax, email addresses. Can you provide this information extracted from your vast storehouse of data? Or can you direct us to someone else who can provide this information for a minimal cost?
A. FTA does not maintain a database of transit bus agency procurement officers. You might be able to obtain a limited amount of this information from the National Transit Database at http://www.ntdprogram.gov/ntdprogram/. Also, the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) in Washington, D.C. may be able to help you. Their phone number is 202-496-4800. (Revised: August 12, 2009)
Q. How can I get a list of 5310 transportation programs that are being operated by agencies in the State of Maryland?
A. We suggest you first contact the Maryland Department of Transportation. You might also contact the Community Transportation Association of America. They have an extensive database of agencies providing various transit services. Their online address is http://www.ctaa.org/. Phone 202-628-1480. (Revised: August 12, 2009)
Q. How can I get a list of the top transit agencies in the USA, for a sales tool?
A. You should go to the APTA web page at: http://apta.com/. There you will see a tab, "Find Public Transportation near You." That will give you the names and links to all public transit agencies in the US organized by state. (Posted: February 18, 2011)
