Does the FTA have a policy on how often rolling stock should be inspected?

As a grant-making agency, FTA does not require periodic vehicle inspections through the issuance of regulations, but rather, encourages recipients of Federal financial assistance to conduct them as part of maintaining a State of Good Repair and a Quality Assurance/Quality Control program.
