This report presents the results of a study to support the development of standards and safer designs to reduce the number of collisions and fatalities and mitigate the severity of transit-bus-related injuries. The New York City Transit Authority performed this safety, research, and development/demonstration project supported by the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute, New Flyer of America, Safe Fleet Mirrors, and Recaro North America.
