This Two-Hour Accident Notification Guide is designed to help rail transit agencies identify events that are classified as accidents and how to notify FTA.

This guide defines reportable Safety & Security (S&S) events and identify reporting thresholds for rail modes reported to NTD. Please note that Alaska Railroad and Commuter Rail modes report only Security events that meet a Major Event reporting threshold.
