Second State of Good Repair Roundtable
July 21-23, 2010
On July 21-23, 2010, the Federal Transit Administration held its Second State of Good Repair (SGR) Roundtable hosted by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) with representatives from 40 transit agencies from around the United States in Chicago, IL. FTA Deputy Administrator Therese W. McMillan was a featured speaker. The Second SGR Roundtable covered several sub themes with many relevant presentations:
- FTA’s SGR Initiative
- Advancing SGR in Our Industry
- Learning from Other US Industries
- Learning from Sister Agencies Abroad, and
- Developing Building Block Capacity
The Roundtable began with a tour of CTA’s rail transit system and provided a forum for transit properties to discuss and share best practices on addressing issues associated with the state of repair of transit infrastructure and equipment as well as transit asset management. Participants and FTA shared ideas on solutions and research activities to advance the State of Good Repair.
