First Coast Flyer East Corridor BRT Capital Investment Program Project Profiles: FY 2017

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA), in coordination with the City of Jacksonville and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), proposes to implement a bus rapid transit (BRT) line from the Rosa Parks Transit Station linking Regency Mall, Florida State College-Jacksonville (Deerwood Center), University of North Florida and ending at Jacksonville Beach. The project includes traffic signal priority at 32 intersections, realtime bus arrival information at stations, queue jumper lanes at six intersections, and procurement of 19 40-foot compressed natural gas buses. Service is planned to be provided every 10 minutes during weekday peak periods, every 15 minutes during weekday off-peak periods, and every 30 minutes on weekends.
