The Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) proposes to build an extension to the Link light rail system which operates today between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and downtown Seattle. Two separate extensions, first to the University of Washington and then further to Northgate, are currently under construction.
