The FTA issued Safety Bulletin 19-01 to State Safety Oversight Agencies (SSOAs) and Rail Transit Agencies (RTAs) to inform them of a known hazard related to the L.B. Foster Protector® IV Trackside Friction Management System (P-IV). This Safety Bulletin will provide SSOAs and RTAs with hazard mitigation information and encourage each agency to assess the risk of this hazard to their transit systems.
