This analysis assesses the physical conditions of the Nation’s transit systems and estimates the national state of good repair (SGR) backlog, the total investment needed to bring the Nation’s transit assets into an SGR. The analysis draws primarily on 2022 data, with results presented in 2022 dollars, and includes historical estimates for reference.
