This session covered State Safety Oversight Agencies oversight to ensure that rail transit agencies include a description of the safety certification process that it uses to ensure that safety concerns and hazards are adequately addressed prior to the initiation of passenger operations for News Starts and other major capital projects to extend, rehabilitate or modify an existing system, or to replace vehicles and equipment.
