Frequently Asked Questions about the Tribal Transit Symposium

Q1: When and where is the Tribal Transit Symposium?

FTA’s Tribal Transit Symposium will be held from 10:00 AM to 5:00PM Central Time May 24- 25, 2023. It will be held in Room 207AB at the Oklahoma City Convention Center, 100 Mick Cornett Drive, Oklahoma City, OK 73109.

Q2: Do I have to attend in-person?

No. The hybrid event offers a virtual option. All registered participants will receive a unique Zoom link to view the Symposium sessions live online. However, online participants will be in “view-only” mode. Meaning they will not have the ability to ask questions and interact with presenters, or receive hands on technical assistance from FTA and DOT staff.

Q3: I’m attending in-person. How do I get there?

Whether you are traveling on foot, in a car, or by transit, the Oklahoma City Convention Center website includes travel directions and transportation information. Please see the convention center website for transportation information for your mode of choice: https://okcconventioncenter.com/attend/directions-parking/

Q4: What does it cost to register for the Tribal Transit Symposium?

There is no-cost to register for the Symposium. However, in-person attendees will be responsible for their own travel, food, and lodging expenses.

Q5: I’m attending in person, where should I stay?

Multiple hotels are located within walking distance or are transit accessible from the Oklahoma City Convention Center. More information on nearby hotels can be found on the Convention Center’s website.

Q6: Will food or meals be provided for Symposium participants?

No, FTA is prohibited from providing food or beverages for Symposium participants.

The Symposium will include a daily lunch break for attendees to lunch on their own. Participants may purchase meals, snacks, and refreshments through vendors at the Convention Center. Options will include an on-site coffee shop on Level 1, open daily until lunch, and a food court located on Level 4 in Ballroom A, open daily from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.

Q7: Is there anything else Symposium participants should be aware of?

The Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA) is holding its 2023 Expo, an annual training and networking event for community and public transportation professionals, at the Oklahoma City Convention Center May 21-25. The CTAA Expo is unaffiliated with the Tribal Transit Symposium and FTA.  For registration and additional information, visit CTAA’s Expo website and register through CTAA.
