Kansas City Streetcar Main Street Extension Project Profile: FY 2022 Annual Report
The City of Kansas City, MO (KCMO), along with project partners Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) and Kansas City Streetcar Authority (KCSA), proposes to extend the Kansas City Streetcar approximately 3.5 miles south of downtown Kansas City from Union Station to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) campus. The project includes street-running rail in mixed traffic, nine platform stations, expansion of the existing vehicle maintenance facility, the purchase of six modern streetcar vehicles, transit signal priority and queue-jumps, intersection and sidewalk improvements, traction power substations, and a communications system.
