This report summarizes FTA's focus on projects in three strategic priority areas: mobility, asset management and asset innovation & safety. Projects in these areas promoted public transportation innovation to improve operations, infrastructure, and the travelers’ experience. In FY 2016, FTA managed a total research portfolio of $155,413,775. This report provides information on projects funded under Chapter 53 of Title 49 Section 5312 as amended by federal public transportation law, Section 3008 for FY 2016.
